Esther Sorkin

Esther began accepting court appointments on appeal since the late 1980s, and, she has been an associate with The Law Office of Ball and Yorke since 1995.

She passed the bar on her first try in 1986; in 2001, she passed the exam to become a certified specialist in appellate law. Three of her appeals have resulted in published victories.

Community

Esther is a member of the Ventura County Trial Lawyers Association and of the California Appellate Defense Council, an organization of those who accept court appointed appeals in criminal cases. She has also long been active in assisting the homeless, once with Project Understanding and, currently, the Social Action Committee of Temple Beth Torah.

Facts

Esther returned to Ventura in 1978 following a volunteer stint with VISTA; in 1979, she married and she has lived in Ventura with her husband, Ira, since that time.
