Renshaw v. Cooke
Renshaw a retired Ventura County Fireman, who was driving a motorcycle in Miramonte, California. Renshaw suffered horrific injuriesand was in a coma for 2 weeks after the accident and had no recollection of the accident. The insurer for Cooke shortly prior to trial offered $250,000.00 to settle the action. A Ventura County awarded Renshaw $1,654,000.00 after trial. Attorney’s fees and costs were awarded.
Worthington v. California Capital Ins. Co
Worthington and Saby were involved in a fight. Saby sued Worthington. Saby tendered the case against him to his insurance company, California Capitol Insurance Company asking his insurance company to defend and indemnify him against the action brought by Worthington. Saby claimed he acted in self defense Worthington was awarded $37,269.26 in damages on a claim of negligence against Saby, and brought a claim against CCIC as Saby’s judgment creditor to recover damages and attorneys pursuant to Insurance Code §11580. After trial and appeal, California Capitol Insurance Company paid the judgment plus attorney’s fees and costs.

Santiago v. Velascos
After a 2 week trial in the Ventura Superior Court Judge Vincent O’Neill issued an award of $1,313,880.00, including punitive damages for Velasco’s violation of California’s Immigration Consulting Act .

Randy Wells was awarded Trial Lawyer of The Year (TLOY) 2013 by The Ventura County Trial Lawyers Association. In recognition of the outstanding case and its result, Randy was awarded at the annual TLOY dinner and is now the second attorney to recieve this honor at the Ball & Yorke law firm. A feat not matched by any other law firm in Ventura County.
