Personal Experience

Brett Yorke is a Partner at the Law Office of Ball & Yorke and a civil litigation attorney who has spent his entire career doing one thing: fighting for people. He does not represent insurance companies, corporations, or institutions. Every client he has ever taken on has been an individual — someone injured, someone wronged, someone who needed a skilled advocate in their corner.

Based in Ventura County, Brett has spent over 13 years handling catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death, medical malpractice, defective pharmaceuticals, premises liability, and wage and hour matters. He has obtained a $1.25 million policy-limits recovery in a catastrophic injury case, recovered over $1 million on behalf of misclassified workers, and secured millions more for injured clients at mediation and arbitration. Those results did not happen by accident — they are the product of thorough case preparation, relentless investigation, and a refusal to leave any avenue unexplored.

What sets Brett apart is not just his track record — it is how he works. He is accessible. When a client calls, Brett answers. He believes that transparency and communication are not optional courtesies; they are obligations. His clients are never left wondering where their case stands or what comes next. From the first conversation to final resolution, Brett is present, engaged, and accountable.

For Brett, the law has always been a calling rooted in something deeper than a career. Learning about his great-grandfather's participation in the union strikes at the turn of the 20th century instilled in him a lifelong belief in worker and consumer protections — and a conviction that ordinary people deserve the same fierce representation that corporations and insurance companies can afford. That belief drives every case he takes on.

The majority of Brett's clients find him through referrals — from past clients, from friends, from family members, from neighbors in the community. Many of his clients are people he knows personally. He is proud of that. It means the people who know him best, and who have seen how he works, trust him with the people they care about most. That trust is something Brett takes seriously every single day.

Brett graduated from San Diego State University with a degree in Political Science and a minor in Cultural Anthropology. He earned his Juris Doctorate with a certificate in Trial Advocacy from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, where he was a finalist in the First-Year Mock Trial competition, participated in Justice Kennedy's summer law program on Comparative Politics in Salzburg, Austria, and was selected for the highly competitive Federal Public Defender Clinic — representing real clients in federal court before he ever graduated.

When you are injured, when you have lost someone, when your employer has taken advantage of you — you need an attorney who will listen, who will work, and who will fight. Brett Yorke has built his entire practice on being exactly that attorney.
